<div itemprop="description">DAVIDSON: Dorothy Jean, of Chatham, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015, to be reunited with her husband Lloyd William Davidson (1984). Born in Galt, 88 years ago, daughter of the late John Barwell and Mary (Minshall). Cherished by her children Judi Aitken, Bruce Davidson and wife Sandee and Randy Davidson and wife Marian, all of Chatham. Loved grandmother of Jennifer Davis (Harry), Vicki Jones (Matt), Cameron Davidson (Heather), Christopher Davidson and Bradley Davidson (Morgan Cadenhead). &quot;D&quot; loved visits from her great-grandchildren Maegan, Gavin, Aidan and Connor. Also surviving is her sister Ruth Oprel as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her sister-in-law Luella Federonick. Dorothy was a Graduate Jeweller and worked for many years at Ostrander's Jewellers in Chatham and loved to share her expertise, even in retirement. She was a steadfast volunteer with 294 Chatham Kinsmen Squadron, Royal Canadian Air Cadets, where she was made an Honourary Member. She was also the recipient of the Air Cadet Volunteer Medal. Dorothy volunteered at the local Arthritis Society Bluebird Club and received the Gordon Brown Service Award. She loved to sew, cross-stitch and keep in touch with her many friends around the world. Our mother touched the lives of many people, young and old, right up until her final days. We wish to express heartfelt thanks for the care, compassion and love shown to Dorothy by the staff of both Maple City Residence and Riverview Gardens (2 East). At Dorothy's request cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at Bowman Funeral Home, 4 Victoria Avenue, Chatham (519-352-2390) for visitation on Thursday, January 29, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, January 30 at 11:00 am with Rev. Mike Maroney of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Those planning a memorial donation are asked to consider the Chatham Air Cadets or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
