Born 82 years ago in Moordrecht, The Netherlands. Daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret Karreman. Wife of the late John Smids (1979) and the late Don Counsell (1986). Loving mother of Fred Smids (Joanie), Margaret VanderEnde (Harold), the late Clarence Smids (2009), Heidi Morrison (Marcus), Stan Smids (Barbara). Step mother of Jackie Johnston (Mike). Loving and caring grandmother of John, Jasper, Cheryl, Steven, Nathan, Ryan, Darren, Brad, Andrea, Kim, Kayla, Kareana, Cassandra, Carley, Corrie-Ann. Jennifer and Karen. Great grandmother of 17. Sister of Clara Hopman, the late John and Harry Karreman. Predeceased by a grandson Jeremy VanderEnde (2002) and a great grandaughter Eliana VanderEnde (2012). Grace was a life time member of First Christian Reformed Church, had a compassion and a love for people with needs and a love for nature and gardening. She always said that her kids and grand kids brought her the greatest joy. The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday, July 19, 2015 at BOWMAN FUNERAL HOME. 4 Victoria Ave (519-352-2390) from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will take place Monday July 20, 2015 at 11:00 am from First Christian Reformed Church. Interment to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Life Outreach International/ Water Wells for Africa and Ridgetown University of Guelph Chaplaincy Program. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /></div>
