<div itemprop="description">CORNELL, Mrs. Shiona &quot;Diana&quot;, of London, Ontario, died peacefully with family at her side Tuesday April 23, 2013 at Meadow Park Nursing Home in Chatham, at the age of 77. Wife of the late Michael Cornell. Loving mother of Andrew (Pam), Richard (Melissa), David (Leeanna) and Timothy. Loving grandmother of Mackenzie, Taylor, Emma, Benjamin, Sabine, Eden and Mia. Also survived by sisters June Kerrich (Michael) and Ann Reuben (Nicholas) of England. Predeceased by her parents George and Elizabeth Humphrey. Diana was born June 6, 1935 in Glasgow, Scotland and lived most of her childhood in the seaside town of Torquay, South Devon. Two years were spent on Jersey Island during the Second World War. Diana excelled at ballet and was a strong swimmer. She worked as a consultant for Boots, Bobbies, Bourne &amp; Hollingsworth, Helena Rubinstein and Harrod's. She and Michael moved to Canada in 1963. She instilled in her sons a passion for social justice and encouraged them to follow their hearts. Her love of the theatre, which started at the Brighton Amateur Dramatics and Poetic Society's Green Room Club, continued with many theatre outings with her husband and friends. Diana was an active member of St. Anne's Anglican Church. A visitation will take place at 10 a.m. on Tuesday April 30 at St. Anne's Anglican Church (1344 Commissioners Rd West, London), followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in St. Anne's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario and Compassion Canada.
