<div itemprop="description">KING, Thelma Joyce (nee Comfort). It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Thelma Joyce (nee Comfort) King, a resident of Chatham, on June 3, 2014 at the age of 92. Mom has gone to join Dad in the heavenly choir. Beloved wife of the late Robert John (Bob) King (2012). Predeceased by parents Alex and Nellie (Patterson) Comfort and her sister, Grace Jean Gray. Loving mother of Dianne and David and daughter-in-law, Linda. Loving Grandmother to Rob and Dan. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Thelma was a charter member of St. James Presbyterian Church where she and her late husband were among the first families that started St. James as choir director and organist at John N. Given Public School. Thelma and her late husband worked for Diamond Hall Ltd. for the late Stanley G. Thomson and then co-owned Diamond Hall Music Centre for many years. Family was of utmost importance to Thelma. She was always there for her children and grandchildren and was very proud of all their accomplishments. Her wishes were for no service to be held. Cremation and a private family interment will take place at Christ Church Memorial Gardens. Please make donations in Thelma&rsquo;s memory to St. James Presbyterian Church, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Alzheimer&rsquo;s Society or the Chatham Concert Band or a charity of your choosing. Arrangements entrusted to BOWMAN FUNERAL HOME, 4 Victoria Avenue (519-352-2390).</div>
